“And suddenly you know: It is time to start something new and trust the magic of beginnings” – Meister Eckhart
Happy New Year’s Eve!
We were so lucky today to say “cheers” to 2016 in one of the most beautiful cities in the world! Today was another free day with your Varsity escort to get one last full day of experiencing London. I tagged along with Bradley and Ashley’s groups in the morning to see the Tower of London and the world-famous Crown Jewels. The Crown Jewels are some of the most incredible diamonds on Earth and some are even still used today by The Queen and Royal family. After exploring the Tower, we met up with Laureen and Jacob’s group at the London Eye. The Eye is a giant Ferris wheel on the River Thames where you can catch amazing views of Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, and the London high rises. It felt like we were at the “tippy, tippy top” of London! After visiting the eye I headed over to Borough Market, a renowned food and drink market that has been in existence for over 1000 years. With hundreds of vendors and thousands of people there trying the different types of food from around the world, it was definitely a lunch we won’t forget!
Today, Brea’s group of dancers hopped over the River Thames also to see the beautiful Crown Jewels at the Tower of London. From there, they headed out to great photo spots, Platform 9 and ¾ and Abbey Road. They finished the afternoon shopping in Oxford Circus and then they went ice skating which, even though it was a little chilly, was so much fun!
After spending the day in London, each hotel had a New Year’s Party where the All-Americans danced the night away. We celebrated the end of 2016 and rang in the New Year alongside our best friends. I cannot believe that it is 2017! Once the clock struck midnight the All-Americans quickly rushed to bed because tomorrow is the day we have all been waiting for, PARADE DAY! We cannot wait to ring in the New Year, Varsity style, and show the world what cheerleading and dance is all about. Be sure to follow us on social media to keep up with the #LNYDP!
